Finding a care home for yourself or a loved one can be extremely challenging, physically and emotionally. Questions you could well ask yourself may include ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ ‘Is this care home the right one for my mum or dad?’ ‘Is the care of a high standard?’ ‘Is this home value for money? ‘The process of finding the right care home can be the cause of many sleepless nights, and sometimes unfortunately these challenges don’t stop once a care home placement has started.

Aspire can help you. We offer the following services, tailored for each individual

• What type of care home is suitable to meet my needs? Based on a full assessment of health and social care needs (and if necessary liaising with other professionals involved in your/your loved one care) we can advise on the type of care home you need that will be able to meet your needs
• Can we visit different care homes? We always advise clients to visit several suitable homes, each one is very individual. We can visit these for you and provide a non-biased report of our findings, or we can accompany you when you visit to assist in asking the right questions that are important to you. Once a care home is chosen, we are there to help make the transition into care as seamless as possible, offering support both emotional and practical to you and your loved one, whilst liaising with the care home.
• Funding – Funding can be confusing, as to who pays what, how much, and hidden extra’s. We can help make this transparent and ensure you fully understand the funding legalities, your rights, and whether you are eligible to apply for assistance with funding.
• Continuing Health Care Funding (CHC) – In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, if you have a disability or complex medical problem such as dementia, you might qualify for free NHS continuing healthcare (CHC). Not many people know about it, so it’s important to find out if you’re eligible and get an assessment. We can help guide you or your loved one with this process.
• On-going support & Care Management – Aspire offers you or your loved one on-going support as needed, not knowing where to turn or go to next for help. If you feel that you or your loved one does not need to reside in a care home at this time, we are here to help you stay in the comfort of your own home for as long as possible and advise as necessary. Alternatively if you have concerns regarding the care home or care that you are provided we can act as your voice and act on your behalf liaising with the care home.
